Aaron Gilani Elected to Student Government at Hampden-Sydney College

Aaron Salim Gilani has been elected to serve as a freshman representative to the Student Senate at Hampden-Sydney College for the 2011-2012 academic year. Student self-government, first introduced at the College in 1886, has a long and respected tradition. The Student Senate transacts all student body business and has legislative jurisdiction over various phases of student campus life.

Aaron is a graduate of Cosby High School and is the son of Salim & Meenaz Gilani of Chesterfield.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
