Aaron Gilani Receives Award at Hampden-Sydney College's Final Convocation

At Final Convocation, on April 24th, Hampden-Sydney College junior, Aaron Gilani received the H. B. Overcash Award. This award is given to premedical students to honor the memory of a much respected and revered Professor of Biology.

Aaron was recently elected to serve as Student Body President for the 2014-2015 academic year. He serves as a Resident Advisor and is a member of the leadership society, Omicron Delta Kappa, Young Democrats, Circle K International Club, and the social fratenrity Chi Phi. He was also a member of the President's Men and was the recipient of the President's Award for Scholarship and Character. A biolgy and psychology major, Aaron graduated from Cosby High School (Chesterfield, VA) and is the son of Salim & Meenaz Gilani.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
