Aaron Gilani Receives Awards at Hampden-Sydney College Commencement

On Sunday, May 10th, graduating senior, Aaron Gilani received an award during commencement. This graduation ceremony marks the end of the 240th academic year at Hampden-Sydney College.

Aaron was awarded the The Anna Carrington Harrison Award . This is given to the student who shows the most constructive leadership in a school year.

Aaron served as Student Body President for the 2014-2015 academic year. He also served as a Resident Advisor and is a member of the leadership society Omicron Delta Kappa, Young Democrats, Circle K International, and the social fraternity Chi Phi. He was a member of the President's Men and was the recipient of the President's Award for Scholarship and Character.

He is the son of Salim & Meenaz Gilani (Chesterfield, VA).

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
