Dereck Parada Graduates from Hampden-Sydney College

Dereck Onofre Parada was among the 212 men who graduated on Sunday, May 13, at commencement exercises marking the end of the 237th academic year at Hampden-Sydney College.

Parada graduated with a B.A. in foreign affairs. A graduate of West Potomac High School, he is the son of Thea Nelson and Ramon Parada, both of Alexandria.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
