Frederick Antoine Initiated into Society for Collegiate Journalists

Frederick Louis Antoine, a student at Hampden-Sydney College, was initiated on February 8th into the Society for Collegiate Journalists.

Frederick, a sophomore, is a staff writer for the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger. He serves as a sophomore representative on the Student Senate and is a member of the Pre-Law Society and Students for Liberty. He is a graduate of Aspirations High School and is the son of Millicent E. Gregory of Queens Village.

The Society for Collegiate Journalists is the national collegiate honorary society existing to recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in journalism and to encourage good journalistic practices. The society was founded at Syracuse University in 1909, and a chapter was installed at Hampden-Sydney in 1939.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
