2014 Apr 4

Hampden-Sydney College senior, Josh Gaskill (Chesapeake, VA) worked to help promote the social fraternity Theta Chi's recent blood drive. Josh and the other members of Theta Chi collected 44 units of blood- 16 more than their goal.

Various student body, faculty, and staff members contributed blood as this organization exemplified true citizen leadership during Greek Week. This week is a long-standing tradition at Hampden-Sydney College which recognizes all members of greek organizations for their contributions to the culture of the school.

Theta Chi was founded in 1856 and established at Hampden-Sydney in 1911.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
