John Chambers Elected to Phi Sigma Iota

Hampden-Sydney College junior John Robert Chambers was inducted on April 19 into Phi Sigma Iota, the international foreign language honor society. An economics and commerce major, John is a graduate of Saint Anne's-Belfield in Charlottesville, VA, and is the son of Judy & Martin Chambers of Centennial.

Founded in 1917, Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding ability in the study of foreign languages and encourages advanced pursuits and individual research in this discipline.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
