Ke Shang Inducted to Pi Mu Epsilon at Hampden-Sydney College

Hampden-Sydney College junior Ke Shang was inducted on May 2 into Pi Mu Epsilon, the national honorary mathematics society. Ke, a physics and mathematics major, is a graduate of Beijing #35 Middle School and is the son of Mr. Chaohua Shang and Ms. Junyan Yang of Beijing, China.

Founded in 1914, Pi Mu Epsilon promotes significant academic achievement in mathematics and recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 average and are in the top one-third of their class. The Eta of Virginia Chapter was installed at Hampden-Sydney in 1982.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
