Michael van Reekum Inducted into National Honor Society in Psychology

On Sunday, February 19, Michael Stephen van Reekum, a psychology major at Hampden-Sydney College, was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Michael is a graduate of Collegiate School and is the son of F.B. van Reekum & the late J.R. van Reekum, Jr. of Manakin Sabot.

Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and advancing the science of psychology. Students are elected into the society based upon good character, serious involvement with the science of psychology, and academic achievement.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
