Nay Min Oo Initiated into Phi Beta Kappa at Hampden-Sydney College

Hampden-Sydney College senior Nay Min Oo was initiated into the honor society Phi Beta Kappa on Tuesday, April 3. Membership recognizes the highest academic achievement, moral character, responsible citizenship, and broad intellectual curiosity.

A Patrick Henry Scholar, Nay Min serves as President of the International Club. He is the Tiger Mascot for athletics and is a member of the Wilson Center Public Service Program, the Student Committee for Recycling and Preservation, the Hampden-Sydney Men's Chorus, and the honor society Omicron Delta Kappa (leadership) and has served on the staff of the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger. A foreign affairs major, Nay Min is a graduate of No. 6 Basic Education High School and is the son of son of Mr. Kyaw Zaw and Mrs. Ywin Yee of Mandalay, Myanmar.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
