Scott Foster Elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Hampden-Sydney College

Hampden-Sydney College senior Scott Miller Foster was recently elected to the honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Membership recognizes the highest academic achievement, moral character, responsible citizenship, and broad intellectual curiosity.

A Madison Scholar, Scott has served as Academic Chairman and as Risk Manager of the social fraternity Chi Phi. He is a member of the President's Men, the Garnet & Grey Society (admissions tour guides), the Society of '91 (leadership program), and the honor society Psi Chi (psychology). A psychology major, Scott is a graduate of Hermitage High School and is the son of Lisa P. Blake of Glen Allen and John M. Foster of Midlothian.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
