Scott Foster Receives Military Leadership & National Security Studies Program Certificate

Hampden-Sydney College senior, Scott Foster, was recently recognized at the Wilson Center Awards Banquet on April 11th, 2014. Each student featured was presented with a certificate for their work in the Military Leadership and National Security Studies Track. These awards recipients must have demonstrated interest in the historical, political, cultural, ethical, and legal dimensions of national security policy and the role of the military in America.

A Madison Scholar, Scott serves as a Student Court Investigator. He is also a member of the Society of '91, Garnet and Grey, the President's Men, the honor psychology society Psi Chi, the academic honor society Phi Beta Kappa, and the social fraternity Chi Phi. A psychology major, Scott is a graduate of Hermitage High School (Midlothian, VA) and is the son of Lisa P. Blake of Glen Allen and John M. Foster of Midlothian.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
