Will Hudson Initiated into Society for Collegiate Journalists

William David Hudson, a student at Hampden-Sydney College, was initiated on March 5, 2013, into the Society for Collegiate Journalists.

Will, a junior, served this year as Editor of the campus literary magazine, The Garnet. He is a member of the Future Educators Club, the Pre-Law Society, and Hampden-Sydney's Big Brothers Mentor Program. An English major, he is a graduate of Tunstall High School and is the son of Chuck & Penny Hudson.

The Society for Collegiate Journalists is the national collegiate honorary society existing to recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in journalism and to encourage good journalistic practices. The society was founded at Syracuse University in 1909, and a chapter was installed at Hampden-Sydney in 1939.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
